Knights Out

Join Us

West Point Alumni, Staff, and Faculty are welcome to join Knights Out, regardless of your sexual orientation. People not affiliated with West Point are needed as allies.

If you are a cadet, please do not sign up as an "Out Knight". Remember that "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is still in effect - and while you are perfectly within your rights to sign up we strongly recommend that you join as a Knights Out Ally, rather than sign up as "Out."

If you are a gay or lesbian cadet, and you would like support, please contact us directly at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call Sue Fulton at 908.256.6727. We also recommend you review your rights with SLDN's invaluable Survival Guide. If someone asks or accuses you of being gay, say nothing, and contact us or SLDN immediately.

Alumni, Staff, and Faculty

Knights Out has two levels of Membership:

  • OUT Knights – for members who are out and identify as LGBTQ. OUT membership implies that we can use your name and rank in any Knights Out communication.

    Register as an OUT Knight
  • Graduate Supporters – for West Point alumni, staff, and faculty who need not specify their sexual orientation.

    Register as a Graduate Supporter

Both membership categories have full voting privileges in Knights Out.

If you’re a current cadet, or you’re not affiliated with West Point, we encourage you to become an Ally.

Though Allies cannot vote, they receive all communications updates and Action Alerts. Your support is critical!

LGBT Veteran’s Day Reception: A Celebration of Service

Friday, November 11 2011 : 6:00pm – 8:30pm (208 W 13th St, New York, NY)

Join us for A Celebration of Service, an LGBT Veteran’s Day Reception, an evening event recognizing the first Veterans Day in which lesbian, gay and bisexual servicemembers can serve openly and proudly in the United States. It will highlight the journey traveled by our community which led to the eventual and groundbreaking repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. It will showcase individuals and their stories – servicemembers, partners, and families, all of whom have something to celebrate and commemorate for this momentous occasion.

Veterans Day is an American holiday that honors America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. This Veterans Day, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center will celebrate the end of “DADT” and openly honor our LGBT Veterans and Servicemembers. The Center warmly welcomes all members of the community to celebrate this holiday with us and take part in this special event.

The Center is proud to co-sponsor this event with American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER), Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA), OutServe, Knights Out, Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN), and the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN).
