Sign Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s Petition

The military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy is an unjust, outdated, and harmful rule that violates the civil rights of some of our bravest, most heroic men and women. That’s why I have been working, along with my colleagues in the Senate and so many of you, to overturn this wasteful and destructive policy.

Listen to this 12 minute NPR Segment. Dan Choi explains why telling the truth is so important for West Pointers.  Dan points out that when President Obama met with gay rights leaders last week, he asked them to “judge me by my actions, not by my words.”  And yet, the very next day, 1LT Choi was judged by his words - for telling the truth - and his actions, years of honorable service and sacrifice, meant nothing.
