Today, Media Matters for America released a comprehensive review of the myths and falsehoods media conservatives have pushed in their efforts to prevent a repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) law. A coalition of leading organizations and activists, including Knights Out, joined together to issue an open letter to the news media demanding that reports on DADT remain accurate and fair.

We expect the Marine Corps Commandant to testify to the House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday (and the Senate on Thursday) that DADT is working just fine. And that gays are disruptive to the force.

The Board of SAGALA, the Service Academy Gay and Lesbian Association, has made a public statement about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” for the first time in the organization’s 19-year history. In the wake of the President’s State of the Union speech this week, the group of more than 400 gay and lesbian service academy graduates – including many who are currently serving – has released a strong public statement in support of Obama’s pledge of 2010 action to repeal the anti-gay policy.
